If you have primary-school-aged children and live in Nee Soon Central, the Saturday of 18 July 2026 is already spoken for. The N6 Open House Carnival, jointly organised by the Nee Soon Central grassroots organisations, the Community Sports Network, the Harmony Circle, SAFRA Yishun and Northwest CDC, runs from 9.30am to 12.30pm at SAFRA Yishun and costs $2 per person. That price covers the lot: Tamiya and Beyblade stations, carnival games, a mini-football tournament, KpopX and Zumba sessions, an esports FIFA console, bouncing castles, goodie bags and a string of workshops.

Entry is restricted to Nee Soon Central residents, and tickets are sold by scanning the QR code on the official poster distributed through the Residents' Network pages. Call Nee Soon Central CC at 6752 7687 between 10am and 6pm any day (excluding public holidays) if you cannot find the link.

What is actually on for the kids

The carnival is built around age-banded activities so siblings of different ages are not stuck doing the same thing. Bouncing castles and carnival game booths run the whole morning for the youngest visitors. Tamiya mini 4WD cars and Beyblade battles are the anchor draw for older kids and teenagers, with the Yishun Grove Residents' Network framing the morning as a way to find out about RN-run classes and courses too.

Adults get a KpopX and Zumba session at the same time, run by the Nee Soon Central CSN. The same organising committee runs a separate Mini-Football Tournament 2026 on the same day at $50 per team, and a free KpopX/Zumba standalone session listed under the Nee Soon Central CSN if you only want the workout. Both are bookable through the onePA event links.

Why this is the biggest North-side family carnival of the July holidays

Most Yishun community events in July are $5-$15 durian parties or single-activity workshops. The N6 Open House is the one morning where SAFRA Yishun throws open its main entrance and runs six concurrent activity tracks at a price under $5. Adviser Goh Hanyan, Senior Parliamentary Secretary for Culture, Community and Youth and for Sustainability and the Environment, is scheduled to join the morning, which is why the goodie bags and the photo ops run longer than the usual RC event.

SAFRA Yishun's own facilities are also accessible on the day, which is the real value-add. The EnergyOne gym, Sonic Bowl, the tennis and pickleball courts and the swimming pools are all inside the same building at 60 Yishun Avenue 4, so a $2 carnival ticket effectively doubles as a same-day recce of the club if you have been considering a SAFRA membership.

What to do at SAFRA Yishun after the carnival ends

The carnival wraps at 12.30pm, which leaves the rest of Saturday free. Three things within the SAFRA Yishun compound are worth staying for. Sonic Bowl runs weekend rates on its bowling lanes and is the easiest way to extend the morning with primary-aged kids. The Stance Billiards room is a quieter option for older children and adults. BKK Bistro & Bar on Level 1 (#01-04) opened on 27 May 2026 and serves the iconic 80-cent Thai boat noodles alongside Pad Thai and Mookata from noon to 2am daily, so it is open right as the carnival ends.

If you want to leave the compound, Northpoint City is a 7-minute bus ride away on services 811 or 851 from outside SAFRA, and REFASH reopened at #02-135/136/137 on 11 July 2026 if you want to combine a thrift browse with the carnival.
