Indonesian ayam penyet chain famous for its sambal chilli in nine spicy levels.

D'Penyetz at Admiralty Place brings authentic Indonesian flavours to the heartlands, specialising in the beloved ayam penyet — smashed fried chicken served with their signature sambal chilli. Founded in 2009 by Edy Ongkowijaya, the franchise has grown to over 100 outlets across six countries, testament to the irresistible draw of its crispy, juicy chicken paired with fiery condiments. The stall's sambal, imported directly from Jakarta, comes in nine different spice levels, so diners can dial the heat up or down to their preference. Beyond the flagship ayam penyet, the menu extends to ikan penyet (smashed fish), lele penyet (catfish), and other Indonesian staples, all complemented by rice and fresh vegetables. Dine-in and takeaway are both available at this casual Admiralty outlet, making it a convenient choice for a quick lunch or a hearty dinner. It suits spice lovers and anyone seeking a taste of Indonesia without leaving the neighbourhood. When the craving for something bold and satisfying strikes, D'Penyetz is ready to deliver. Come for the chicken, stay for the sambal — and discover why this Indonesian favourite has won hearts far beyond its Jakarta roots.

Ordered on grab ayam Bakar taliwang and requested for no chilli, received a level 5 spice as confirmed and spoken verbatim by your dear staff. He informed me that the spice level is standard and predetermined and when I requested for ‘no chilli’ under the ‘chilli level’ portion of my order, I actually have requested for no extra chilli. He said that ayam Bakar taliwang comes with chilli, standard. Then why is there such option on grab? It’s okay if you have incompetent staff, it is not okay if you have unhelpful staff. Disgrace of an Indonesian establishment. Opposite of the embodiment of Indonesian hospitality. No wonder this place has 2.6 stars on google.

Tried it out today and find it expensive for something I can have at Kampung Admiralty food court for 10~20% cheaper. Whatever price you see, remember to add $1 for rice. So 8 had their ayam penyet and it was $9.90. Price aside, the chicken was tender and almost just fall off the bone. Taste wise, nothing to shout about.

I would recommend anyone or everyone to buy direct from stall instead of grab or foodpanda.. Buying from grab/foodpanda(pick-up) even after discount, it cost $12++ while if you buy direct from the shop, it will only cost you $9.50.. Outrageous price by grab.. AVOID GRAB or even foodpanda as their price on both apps are similarly more expensive than buying from the store itself..
